North American Management researched and wrote Healing Shattered Lives: An Assessment of Selected Domestic Violence Programs for Community Based Primary Health Care Settings, a national compendium of innovative domestic violence interventions as a resource for use by safety net providers nation-wide.  The document included Screening, Practices, and Training Protocols for community based primary health care settings. Survey  Instruments were sent to 2000 Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) grantees and to primary health care organizations nationally via email and regular mail. Created progressively more detailed survey instruments for the initial submission of program information by respondents, and for follow-up surveys and telephone interviews. Developed, in conjunction with Domestic Violence Advisory Group members, evaluation criteria, both technical and diversity, for selecting the best protocols for inclusion in the compendium. Complied and analyzed data and presented findings to Domestic Violence Advisory Group members. Conducted preliminary ranking of protocols using numerical scoring system. Facilitated ranking of protocols submitted. Produced drafted compendium. Facilitated review session with Domestic Violence Advisory Group members. Made final revisions and formatted document for publication.

In a previous study, undertaken in response to the need for information on successful and unsuccessful domestic violence intervention and prevention programs, the BPHC, Office of Minority and Women's Health retained North American Management to research and write an Assessment of Domestic Violence intervention and Prevention Activities in BPHC Funded Projects. Developed national research methodologies, survey instruments and protocols. Conducted face to face interviews, gathered health care data, conducted informational and statistical analyses developed findings and recommendations.
