Federal Government & PHA
Project Description:
In an effort to reduce indoor environmental hazards and improve health outcomes in federally assisted housing, HUD identified Smokefree housing as a priority. North American Management created a national advisory board of environmental health professionals, housing industry officials and resident constituencies; developed case studies for smoke-free programs; identified vision and supporting campaign principles; developed a communications plan; developed a toolkit for use by PHAs, multifamily property owners/managers and resident organizations; conducted focus groups to test toolkit effectiveness; developed dissemination strategy and disseminated to over 3,500 PHAs, multifamily property owners and resident Non-Government Organizations (NGOs).
